Cloakshape/H Fighter
The Cloakshape/H is a popular fighter throughout the galaxy because of it being Hyperdrive capable compared to the original Cloakshape design. Cloakshapes used to be restricted to just one sector, but the Cloakshape/H can go all around the Galaxy. Though not as heavily armed as its predecessor, it still packs a punch with its heavy lasers. Some believe the reason of less weapons is to make room for the Hyperdrive. It is easy to modify the fighter and upgrade its engine, shields and weapons. The most common modification to date is the maneuvering fin at the tail which helps handling the ship better in atmosphere. In fact, it's so common, people often think it's part of the original design. Since the Cloakshape/H can only hold 1 passenger, it is basically used as a cheap, Hyperdrive capable, personal transport, and is often used for small courier missions. Though not very popular with factions it still finds its way throughout the galaxy. It can be used to help in reconnaissance and patrolling a system. It is also sometimes used by smaller freelance groups to protect unarmed spaceships. Should the main transport come under attack, the Cloakshape/H can distract the attacking force long enough for the transport to make it to its destination safely.

X-Ceptor
The X-ceptor is another variant of the range of starfighters generally referred to as "uglies". Uglies are often produced by independent shipyards using salvaged wrecks of various starfighters and freighters. The X-cepter in particular is an amalgamation of an Imperial TIE Interceptor and Incom T-65 X-Wing.
While retaining the fuselage and rear-mounted wing position of the X-Wing, the S-foils which give the Incom fighter its maneuverability are replaced with solar panels salvaged from TIE Interceptors in the X-ceptor incarnation. The solar panels are on the ugly are modified to house heavy lasers, and the X-ceptor also has a limited hyperdrive.
Performance wise, the X-ceptor is not as efficient as the X-Wings or the Interceptors which donate parts to its construction. As with most uglies, build quality is not guaranteed, since they have been reassembled from recycled bodies and components harvested from wrecks. Considered barely space worthy by most legitimate businesses, they are more commonly used in service by pirate groups, smugglers or other independent defense groups who do not have large resources to fund more advanced starfighters. Though X-ceptors are equipped for combat, they are usually outclassed by modern starfighters.

Y-Tie
These fighters are some of the least expensive on the market today. It is this fact which makes it very attractive to some of the less profitable groups throughout the galaxy, to include pirates, poor governments, and young pilots without better means. The rather gangly appearance of this fighter translates throughout the entire design. It is unweilding, and difficult to maneuver. In atmosphere, it becomes much like a falling rock, and the pilots that fly these ships tend to be either very religious or wild risk takers as it currently has one of the lowest survivability ratings of any ship in the galaxy. The Y-TIE can be operated by one pilot and an astromech droid but can also fit a second passenger or extra cargo for the pilot. The components involved are a Y-Wing with the engine pod replaced by TIE-Ln propulsion system and solar panels. Because the TIE propulsion system was built for a much smaller craft the Y-TIE suffers from poor maneuverability and speed making it one of the slowest fighters on the market today. The real advantage of this ship is the availability of spare parts, there are a large number of both craft throughout the galaxy, and that translates to large amounts of spare parts for a very small cost. These ships tend to attack in packs, and in large numbers they tend to be lethal. However, in battles where these fighters are outnumbered their losses tend to be devastating.

Y-Wing BTL-S3
The most versatile of all Rebel starfighters, the Y-Wing is capable of handling virtually every mission with only slight modifications. Specifically the inclusion of Ion cannons in its arsenal make it a popular starfighter amongst pirates. Like the famous TIE fighter, the Y Wing is powered by a twin Ion engine, but unlike the TIE this ship has both engines away from the main hull, giving it the characteristic Y shape when viewed from above or below. A drawback to this design has proven to be the fact that it now leaves the Y wings power couplings in an exposed position, making them a preferred target in dogfights. This variation of the Y wing designated the BTL-S3 is a two man variant, usually a pilot and a gunner. It has superior shields to its sister ship, the BTL-A4 Longprobe because of the inclusion of an extra Novaldex power generator. The extra power is also needed for the weapons. The proton torpedo magazine, located just under the passenger/gunner seat was removed for the BTL-A4 model to make room for the extra sensor package.
